Creator Submission & Licensing Agreement

1. Purpose

This Agreement governs the submission of films and related materials to 1×1 FRAME by a Creator. It supplements, and is incorporated into, the Terms & Conditions.

2. Definitions

"Film" means the audiovisual work you submit, including its image, sound, score, captions, poster, and accompanying metadata. "Archive" means the permanent curated catalogue maintained by 1×1 FRAME.

3. Ownership

You retain full ownership of the copyright and any moral rights in your Film, subject to the licenses granted below. Nothing in this Agreement transfers ownership.

4. Representations and Warranties

You represent and warrant that: (a) you are the sole author or you have secured all rights from co-authors; (b) you have cleared all third-party rights, including music, archival footage, performers, and any recognizable persons or trademarks; (c) your use of generative AI tools complies with the terms of those tools and with applicable law; (d) your Film does not infringe any right of any third party, is not defamatory, and does not depict minors in a sexual or exploitative manner.

5. License to 1×1 FRAME

You grant 1×1 FRAME a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to: (a) host and stream the Film to authorized viewers on the Platform; (b) display still frames, posters, synopses, and credits for editorial, festival, archive, and promotional purposes; (c) include the Film in curated programs, official selections, and the Hall of Fame; (d) make technical copies necessary for storage, transcoding, backup, and accessibility.

The streaming license is granted for so long as your Film remains in the Archive. The editorial and promotional license survives removal of the Film from active streaming, solely with respect to materials already published before removal.

6. Archive Permanence

Films accepted into the Archive are intended to remain there permanently as part of the historical record of AI-native cinema. You may request withdrawal in writing; we will honor reasonable requests, provided that already-published editorial references, award citations, and physical or printed materials need not be recalled.

7. Awards and Credits

If your Film receives an award, you grant 1×1 FRAME the right to use the award designation, the Film's title, and your credited name in award announcements, the Hall of Fame, and related editorial coverage, in perpetuity.

8. Submission Fees and Memberships

A submission credit may be purchased for ten Euro (€10) per Film, or unlocked through the Creator Membership (€99 per year). Payment of a fee or membership does not guarantee acceptance into the festival or the Archive.

9. Revenue Sharing

Revenue sharing, if and when introduced, will be governed by the Creator Fund & Revenue Sharing Framework. Until that framework is in force, no revenue share is owed by 1×1 FRAME for streaming on the Platform.

10. Removal and Disqualification

We may remove a Film, revoke an award, or disqualify a submission if we determine, in good faith, that it violates these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or applicable law, or that a material representation in this Agreement was untrue. We will notify you and, where appropriate, offer a right of reply.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 1×1 FRAME, its officers, jurors, and contractors against any third-party claim arising from your Film or your breach of this Agreement, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time. Termination does not affect licenses granted with respect to Films already accepted into the Archive, except as set out in Section 6.
