Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of 1×1 FRAME (the "Platform"), a festival, archive, and institution for AI-native cinema operated from Czechia. By creating an account, submitting a film, purchasing a membership, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least sixteen (16) years old to create an account, and at least eighteen (18) years old to submit a film, purchase a membership, or receive any payment. By using the Platform you represent that you meet these requirements and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update it promptly. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or applicable law.

4. Roles

The Platform supports several roles: Viewer, Creator, Juror, and Administrator. Each role carries distinct rights and responsibilities described in these Terms, the Creator Submission & Licensing Agreement, the Festival Rules & Judging Policy, and the Community Guidelines.

5. Memberships and Payments

Paid plans — including the Viewer Pass, Creator Membership, and one-off submission credits — are processed through Stripe. Prices are displayed at checkout in Euro and are inclusive of any applicable taxes calculated by Stripe Tax based on your billing address.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are issued at our discretion, except where required by law.

6. Content

You retain ownership of films and written work you submit. By submitting, you grant 1×1 FRAME the licenses described in the Creator Submission & Licensing Agreement. You are solely responsible for the legality of your submissions, including all rights clearances for music, footage, training data, and likeness.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to misuse the Platform. Prohibited conduct includes, without limitation: infringing intellectual property; uploading unlawful, harassing, or sexually explicit content involving minors; circumventing access controls; scraping the archive in bulk; and attempting to manipulate jury scoring or audience ratings.

8. Moderation

We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to review, remove, or restrict any submission or review that violates these Terms or the Community Guidelines. Moderation decisions are final at first instance; appeals may be sent to legal@1x1frame.com.

9. Intellectual Property

The Platform, its design system, typography, editorial copy, code, and the 1×1 FRAME name and marks are owned by 1×1 FRAME or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use those marks except as expressly permitted.

10. Disclaimer

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, 1×1 FRAME shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Platform. Our aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of one hundred Euro (€100) or the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Prague, Czech Republic.

13. Changes

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email and the Platform at least thirty (30) days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
